JVC TV’s can respond to your body

Do you expect a television that can responds to clapping and applause? Well, JVC showed off a handclap and gesture recognition TV last week, designed to replace the bog standard remote control with hand movements and claps. It as a sort of combination between a Nintendo Wii and a “Clap on / Clap Off” fixture.Using a microphone and a video camera, the TV can pick up claps to change volume, and recognize a pointing finger to control elements on the screen (apparently you bend your finger to “click”). You can programmed the TV to switch to ESPN channel when you clap once, CNBC when you clap twice, for example. The sensors also can respond to your arms, hands, and body gesture.
